My name is Aditya, and I am seven years old. I know I am still small, but coffee has been a big part of my life for a long time. Not the drinking part, because I can’t drink it yet, but everything else: the smell, the roasting, the warm air, the sound, and the happiness it brings to people around me. I grew up watching coffee being made at home and in cafés, and it always made me feel amazed.
My story began when I was only one and a half years old. One day, I stood on my toes to look inside a roaster. The beans inside were changing colour and I remember feeling like I was watching something magical. That moment stayed in my mind, and I kept wanting to know more and more about what coffee is and how it becomes something people enjoy every morning.
As I got a little older, my curiosity about coffee roasting only grew stronger. I always wanted to stand closer to the roaster, breathe in the fresh aroma, and watch every little change happening in the beans. My parents noticed how fascinated I was, so they helped me learn safely and slowly, making sure I understood what I was doing.
That’s when they introduced me to the LINK Sample Roaster, and it changed everything. It’s built for anyone who wants to roast small batches with accuracy, even beginners like me. I didn’t need any prior experience. With the LINK, I can choose simple or more detailed profiles depending on what I want to learn.
Through the LINK app, I can select the coffee variety, use density tube integration, and let my phone guide me through custom-built profiles. And with LINK Studio, I can watch my roast in real time, explore more than a thousand profiles, and learn how each adjustment shapes the final flavour.
The roaster itself is incredibly precise. Every roast starts at room temperature, so the beans heat evenly from the start, giving a smoother roast and letting me taste the coffee’s true character sooner. Also, with fan speed calibration, it adjusts perfectly no matter where you are, even at different elevations or climates.
The beauty of the roaster is that I can take it to any coffee farm when I grow up. It comes with a military-grade, water-resistant travel case, so it’s completely portable and ready for real-world learning.
Every time I roast, my parents stay right beside me, guiding me through each step. I’m really grateful to them for encouraging my curiosity and for letting me learn with a tool that’s safe, modern, and full of possibilities. The LINK makes roasting feel authentic, hands-on, and exciting for my future.
Come see my tiny adventures with big coffee dreams. On my social pages, I share how I roast, learn, and discover new coffee stories every day. Join me, watch, listen, learn, and maybe fall a little more in love with coffee too.
My parents also took me to cafés to learn from experts. One of my favourite places was Curious Life Coffee Roasters in Jaipur. I met Barista Bhave Shroy there, and he taught me how much roasting changes the taste of coffee. He explained slowly so I could understand, and he let me watch him work. It was one of the first times I felt like I was really learning something special.
I also learned cappuccino art from Soudh Ibrahim. He is a multi-title winner and a coffee consultant. He taught me how to handle tools properly and answered all my questions kindly. Learning from him made me feel confident and happy.
One person who teaches me a lot, even though I haven’t met him yet, is James Hoffmann. I watch his videos again and again until I understand everything. He explains things clearly, and it feels like he is talking directly to me. I think of him as my mentor, and one day I hope I can attend his workshops and learn from him in person.
I enjoy visiting coffee farms with my parents. The farms are quiet and beautiful, with tall trees and red cherries shining under the sun. The farmers are kind and always happy to tell us about how they take care of the plants. Touching fresh coffee cherries and learning how they grow makes me feel connected to the whole journey.
At home, I roast coffee in small batches using my sample roaster. This part makes me the happiest. I watch the beans carefully, listen to tiny sounds during roasting, and try to give each batch the care it needs. The whole house fills with a warm, comforting smell. I roast coffee based on what people like: light roast, medium roast, or heavy roast. I try my best to make each roast neat and balanced.
I also love sharing what I learn. I make small videos on Instagram where I show my roasting process, do unboxings, and talk about tools like the V60 and AeroPress. When people say they enjoy watching my videos, I feel really happy inside.
I also host a podcast called Brew Talks. I talk to roasters, baristas, and coffee experts who kindly answer my questions. Even though I am young, they treat me with respect and explain everything in a way I can understand. Every episode teaches me something new.
One of the best moments of my journey so far was winning the Indian Aeropress Championship. I was nervous before the competition, but my parents encouraged me to enjoy the experience. When my name was announced as the winner, I felt proud and excited.
I also have a subscription model where people receive 200-400 grams of freshly roasted coffee beans. This feels special to me because I roast each batch carefully myself. They can choose how they want it: light roast, medium roast, medium dark roast. I pack each bag nicely and make sure it stays fresh. It feels good to know that my roasting brings joy to someone’s morning.
As my beans are very fresh so it is available majorly to the people living near my home, Chandigarh and Panchkula (North India).
I know I am still young, and coffee roasting is not something that many children learn or do at my age. But I am mesmerised by the aroma of the coffee beans to an extent that when I was 2 years old I requested baristas to let me taste their beans. I understood that each cafe’s coffee beans tasted & smelled differently. I had so many questions about coffee that my parent’s bought a Book by James Hoffmann – The World Atlas of Coffee, to answer most of the questions.
That’s why I feel very lucky to have my family. My parents help me stay safe and support me in every step. They make sure I use tools that are right for my age. They take me to places where I can learn, and they answer all my questions. Coffee brings a warm feeling into our home, and it brings us closer as a family.
