Hi, I’m Aditya, and right now I am on a coffee trip in Vietnam with my parents. This place feels very exciting because coffee is everywhere. One place I visited here is Highlands Coffee, and I really liked it.
My parents (VarDish) told me that Highlands Coffee started in 1999 by a person named David Thai. Now it is one of the biggest coffee chains in Vietnam. When I saw it, I understood why. It is present almost everywhere, especially in big cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
When we entered, I noticed something interesting. The café felt modern, but the coffee was still very traditional. My parents explained that Highlands Coffee mixes Vietnamese coffee culture with a modern café style. That means you can sit comfortably, but still enjoy real local coffee.
The most exciting part for me was seeing the Phin filter. This is a small metal brewer used in Vietnam. Coffee drips slowly from it, and it takes time. I love watching slow brewing, so this felt very special to me.
One popular drink here is Phin Sua Da, which is iced coffee with condensed milk. I didn’t drink it, but I saw how it was made and served. It looked strong and sweet. They also have Freeze drinks and even Banh Mi, which is a sandwich.
My parents told me that Highlands Coffee is part of a big group called Jollibee Foods Corporation, but it still keeps the Vietnamese coffee style alive.
For me, this visit was not just about seeing a café. It helped me understand how coffee can stay traditional and still feel modern at the same time.
