Hi, I’m Aditya, and I’m on a plane with my parents right now. I’m going to Bangalore today because we want to explore coffee farms and also meet people who can be good coffee vendors for my learning and roasting journey.
I feel excited and a little nervous because travelling for coffee feels like a big step for me. When the plane started moving quickly down the runway, my heart was racing, but then I looked out the window and felt calm. I keep thinking about coffee farms and the smell of fresh coffee cherries, and that makes me happy.
Why I’m Going to Bangalore
People think coffee is only about drinking, but for me, it is about the whole story. I can’t drink coffee yet, but I love everything else. I love the smell of beans, the roasting process, the warm air, and the tiny sounds during roasting. I also love meeting coffee people, because they kindly teach me new things. Some people call me the youngest coffee brewer, and even though I’m still learning, I feel happy because it means people can see my love for the coffee process.
Bangalore is a great place for us to start because it is close to many coffee-growing areas. My parents told me we can meet coffee people there and also plan farm visits so I can learn where coffee comes from, not just how it gets roasted.
What I Want to Learn From Coffee Farms
When I visit a coffee farm, I don’t just want to take photos. I want to understand the steps, like a real learner. I want to see how the plants look, how cherries grow, and how farmers take care of them.
These are the things I’m most curious about:
- How coffee cherries look and feel when they are ready
- How farmers decide when to pick the cherries
- What happens after picking, before the beans become ready for roasting
- How coffee changes when it is dried and prepared
- How different farms can make coffee smell different
I like asking questions, because every answer gives me a new “coffee clue” in my head.
What “Searching for Vendors” Means for Me
My parents and I are also searching for suitable vendors, and I want to explain what that means simply. A vendor is someone who can provide high-quality coffee beans cleanly and honestly, so I can roast them carefully at home.
When we meet vendors, my parents will do most of the talking, and I will listen and learn. I will also ask a few questions to understand how they work and how they handle coffee. People sometimes say I’m the youngest barista in India, so I want to behave politely, listen carefully, and learn the right way from grown-ups who know coffee well.
These are the things we will look for:
- Good quality beans that are clean and well-sorted
- Clear information about where the coffee comes from
- Proper storage so beans stay safe and fresh
- Honest pricing and reliable supply
- People who are kind and patient when I ask questions
I want to learn slowly and work with people who respect coffee and learning.
What I’m Thinking While Sitting on the Plane
Right now, I’m sitting in my seat, and I keep imagining the smells I might find on this trip. I imagine the smell of coffee farms, and the smell of fresh beans, and even the smell of roasting later when we come back home. I’m also really excited to meet my favorite Soudh Ibrahim, because I love learning from him and his coffee skills make me want to practice more and learn a lot from Sumit from Kaapi Solutions.
I also feel proud, because this is not just a holiday. This is a learning trip. My parents are helping me follow my curiosity in a safe way, and that means a lot to me.
A Quick Reminder About Safety
I always want to say this clearly, because it is important. I don’t do unsafe things, and I don’t roast alone. My parents stay with me during roasting and during learning, especially when there is heat or equipment involved. Coffee is exciting, but safety is always first, and I like learning carefully.
What I’ll Share After I Land
After I land in Bangalore, I want to share a few moments from the trip. Maybe I will share a farm visit, or a vendor visit, or a simple coffee lesson I learned that day. I like sharing because it makes me feel like I’m learning with friends, not alone.
And if I learn something really interesting, I might also talk about it in my Brew Talks podcast later, because coffee stories become better when we share them.
Ending Note From Me
So yes, I’m on a plane today, and my coffee heart is already feeling very full. Bangalore, I’m coming, and I’m ready to learn, listen, and explore coffee with my parents beside me.
If you see this post with my plane picture, just know it’s not just a photo. This is the start of a new coffee adventure for me.
